Indian Space History Memory Monologues – Arup Dasgupta

Arup pioneered the introduction of Geomatics in ISRO and conducted advanced research and development in the convergence of Geomatics, Information Technology and Communications Technology in space applications.

Arup Dasgupta worked in the Indian Space Research Organisation, from November 1970 to March 2005. He began his career in the Satellite Instructional Television Experiment (SITE). Later he was involved in the management of applications programmes for several remote sensing satellites including Bhaskara and IRS as well as development of Image and Information Processing systems. He was responsible for research and development in applications using the convergence of communications and information technologies.

This is a project by Spaceport SARABHAI (S2) to capture anecdotes of people who have contributed to the development of India’s space program.

Indian Space History Memory Monologues – Sudharshan P

Sudarshan, recruit of Prof Sarabhai in the 1970 talks about his experiences of indigenous development of 100 critical technologies by ISRO to realise space missions.

Sudarshan served in the atomic energy program between 1970-76 and then at ISRO between 1976-88. He was the Chairman of the Technology Transfer and Industry Cooperation committee at ISRO and helped directing ISRO’s budget & economic analysis.

This is a project by Spaceport SARABHAI (S2) to capture anecdotes of people who have contributed to the development of India’s space program. S2 is India’s 1st dedicated Space think tank that aspires to be global, collaborative, and inclusive.
